Mild high pressure brings mixed skies.  Vancouver Paragliding - 3000ft winds aloft east to 9 km/hr.  Surface winds in the Fraser Valley light and variable. Seattle Paragliding 3000ft winds aloft southwest to 14 km/hr becoming light and variable as day progresses. OK day for paragliding at Blanchard, Woodside, (and Bridal).  Marginal elsewhere due to 40% POP.

Low pressure to northwest brings mostly cloudy skies and 40% POP, while a blue hole towards the south brings paragliding prospects.  Vancouver Paragliding - 3000ft winds southest to 15km/hr and reducing to 11km/hr as day progresses.  Surface winds in the Fraser Valley east becoming west to 10 km/hr as the day progresess. Seattle Paragliding 3000ft winds aloft southwest to 10 km/hr becoming light and variable as day progresses. Great day for paraglidng at Blanchard.  Marginal elsewhere.

Paragliding weather forecast for Vacouver and Seattle area.  High pressure yields sunny skies, while low pressure to west induces east outflow winds.  Paragliding Vancouver - winds aloft at 3000ft light and variable to 11:00 and becoming east to 20km/hr through 22:00. Fraser Valley winds east to 10 km/hr, may be overcome by seabreeze. Paragliding Seattle - winds aloft at 3000ft southeast to 31km/hr increasing to 56 km/hr through 22:00. A marginal paragliding day, but could improve if seabreeze overpowers ouflow and/or outflow is less than forecast.

1. Paragliding Whistler: lapse rate -3.3C/1000ft: advanced P4 paraglider pilots. Whistler flying team only. Watch for possible leeside as day progresses. Wait for catabatic conditions to subside.  Epic day with strong lapse rate, expert pilots only. Chances 70:30.

2. Chilliwack paragliding: lapse rate -3.0C/1000ft: P4 Advanced. Watch for leeside and strong lapse rate.  A narrow window may happen between morning catabatic conditons subsiding and east winds aloft establishing.  Be careful out there. Sumas 11:00-14:00 for P4 expert paraglding. Chances  60:40.  Woodside 11:00-14:00 for P4 expert paragliders. Chances 30:70.

Vancouver & Seattle Paragliding weather forecast. Mild high pressure establishing brings mixed skies and 30% POP throughout. Vancouver Paragliding - 3000ft winds aloft light and variable through 22:00. Fraser Valley winds west to 10km/hr with arrival of seabreeze.  Seattle Paragliding - 3000ft winds aloft southwest to 14km/hr through 22:00. A marginal day with 30% POP, but could improve if it clears up, for paragliding in Bellingham, Chilliwack & Pemberton.

1. Paragliding Bellingham: lapse rate -2.7C/1000ft: intermediate P3. Blanchard 11:00-18:00 P3 intermediate paraglider pilots. Chances 70:30.

2. Chilliwack paragliding: lapse rate -2.8C/1000ft: P4 Advanced. Conditions will be good only if peak clears of cloud today. Wait for catabatic conditions and outflow to be overpowered by seabreeze. Woodside 14:00-19:00 for P3 intermediate paraglider pilots. Dress warm as lapse rate will be high if blue holes develop. Chances 50:50.

3. Paragliding Pemberton: lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft: intermediate P3 paraglider pilots. Watch for clearing. Wait for catabatic conditions to subside, snowshoe and paraglide Mackenzie post 12:00. Chances 40:60.

Low pressure to east brings low cloudbase, rain and strong southwest winds.  Paragliding Vancouver: winds aloft at 3000ft, west to 28 km/hr, easing to 15 km/hr southwest through 22:00. Vancouver and Chilliwack valley wind forecast as southwest 30 km/r gusting to 60 km/hr. Paragliding Seattle - winds aloft at 3000 ft southwest to 50 km/hr, easing to 32 km/hr, through 22:00. Valley winds in the Seattle area calling for windy conditions and southwest winds to 48 km/hr. Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seatttle, Whistler and Pemberton areas are not recommended for paragliding today.
