High pressure with low to south causing ongoing outflow NE, E and SE winds aloft and in valleys: bringing interior smoke from forest fires during this past week and accumulating in the Fraser Valley. Air quality health risk warnings at very high risk of 7 (out of ten). Visibility down to less than 1 km in select areas.
YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Vancouver with SE outflow to 15 km/hr with smoke blocking solar delivery and the build up of sea-breeze. Novice peak lapse rate -1.2C/1000ft.
SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable with NE winds aloft at 6000 ft. Valley winds light and variable. Novice peak lapse rate -1.9C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.3C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Proximity to ocean and low altitude put Blanchard Mountain as first place to establish mild sea breeze with reduced smoke in area. Blanchard Mountain for P2 pilots 1000-2000 with sled runs due to thin smoke haze. Paragliding prospects 70%.
Paragliding not recommended today in Pemberton, Vancouver, Chilliwack and Seattle area sites due to smoke resulting in high risk air quality index at 7, reduced visibility, and supressed sea breeze and thermals.
