Para-hiking: The Eco Alternative

Message:

The hike and fly adventure from Elk Mountain was definately a very good experience and a lot of fun, not to mention a very good change from drive and fly Woodside routine.

The hike took us approximately two hours going at a slow/medium pace with 20 kg backpacks.  Dion was using the XIX Wild Art Trek backpack/harness to save 5 kg.

We (Dion, Duncan, Brad and Lukas) arrived at the summit just after the sunset and the view was worth alone to hike the mountain.  I would definately love to do this again soon, Mt. Deroche or later in the summer, Mt. Cheam would be awesome para-hikes.

PS.  It did not take long to get back to the Woodside routine.  On Saturday evening I did three awesome (awesome at least for me) flights ranging from 30 to 45 minutes where I learned a great deal and refined most of my flying skills.
